Cumberland County was created in 1856 from parts of Bledsoe, Morgan, Putnam,

Rhea, Roane, Van Buren, & White counties

Fentress County was created in 1823 from parts of Overton and Morgan counties.

Overton County was created in 1806 from part of Jackson County.

Pickett County was created in 1879 from parts of Overton and Fentress counties.
