 Tennessee Mortality Schedules

This books was transcribed and indexed by Byron and Barbara Sistler in 1984.  It is a statewide index to the 1850, 1860 and 1880 mortality schedules of Tennessee.  The mortality schedule represents those individuals who died in the year preceding June 1 of the census year.  In other words, those who died within the previous 12 months of June 1st of each of the census years (1850, 1860 and 1880) should be included in the mortality schedule.  Information included in these records includes such information as name of deceased, age, sex, color, free or slave (on 1850 and 1860 schedules), marital status, birth place, death place, birth place of parents (on 1880 schedule), occupation, month of death, cause of death and county and census year.
