Stokes Co., NC 1789. d. 1860-1861 Logan Co., KY), and/or descendants of Benjamin FLOWERS (b. 1788 in Buckingham Co., VA, d. 1883 in Overton Co., TN). Jonathan David "Dee" Brannum was born 12 May 1858 in Overton Co., TN. He married Sarah "Fine" Pierce about 1881. Dee committed suicide on 1 Mar. 1909 in Pickett Co., TN after being accused of murdering his step-daughter. Dee was the son of John Brannum (1820 - 1882) and Louisiana Flowers (daughter of Benjamin Flowers). Dee was the grandson of Richard Brannum and Sarah Lawrence.
